Acting Workshops At Venue Theatre  - Posted 12/22/12 - Updated 12/22/12 - Venue Theatre and Actors Studio, known for acting training throughout Florida, offers ongoing and short term acting workshops. Adult workshops include Intro to Acting, Ongoing Scene Study, Improvisation, Voice Overs Training, Improvisation for Actors, and Tap. Venue holds open houses in January, March. May and August to acquaint anyone interested, with sample classes and a Q&A to follow. Interested individuals can audit any class for free with advance reservation.

Call for Information on the full schedule and start dates. Venue Theatre and Actors Studio is located in the Hudson's Furniture Plaza at US 19 N and Mainlands Blvd in Pinellas Park. Phone 727-822-6194 for additional information. Venue Theatre is a not-for-profit corporation.

Kids Acting Programs Venue Theatre and Actors Studio offers Saturday and after school workshops during the school year for younger students. Please call for information on upcoming open house events and semester dates.

Ages 5-7 and non readers through age 8 (Sat morning, 10:30-11:30);
Musical Theatre ages 8-17(Sat afternoons 12-4pm, students should be able to sing on key);
Acting Only for ages 8-12 Wednesdays 4:30-6:30pm;
Teens on Tuesdays or Saturdays 4:30-6:30pm;
After school classes are offered in different focus areas for teens and professional kids starting at 2:30 until 6:45pm;
Summer Camps run from June - August, from 9am-4pm with before and after activities available from 8am and until 6pm; and
PRIVATE COACHING is available for upcoming auditions.

Summer Camp Film School for Kids  The Program Campers learn to write, produce, shoot and edit movies. Films are screened for family and friends at the end of camp and will be screened at the 2013 Sunscreen Film Festival.
When? July 9 - July 20. Camp hours are Monday through Friday from 9 am until 5 pm. The Camp Film Festival where campers show their films to parents and friends will be on Friday July 17 from 6:30 pm until 9.
Where? The camp will be held at Studio 620 in downtown St. Petersburg: 620 1st Ave. South, St. Petersburg, 33701.
Who is eligible to participate? Kids ages 14-18. Some exceptions to age requirements will be made based on prior experience and interest level after an evaluation by the Sunscreen Film Festival staff. Please note: movie making is a collaborative effort in which each member of the production team relies on everyone else. Your child's camping decision should be grounded in a genuine desire to learn the movie-making art.
How much? The two-week, 9-5 camp is $500.00.
What equipment is required? If you have family equipment, like a camcorder, and want to learn to use it more effectively, you are encouraged to bring it. Otherwise, Sunscreen will provide the equipment.
Who is the faculty? The program head is Film Professor Dave Deborde. The instructor is Lulu Friesdat. Lulu has for 13 years worked as a video editor in New York for all of the major networks. She has also worked for Dateline the Today Show and Conan O'Brien. She was nominated for a business Emmy for CNBC's Game On! The Unauthorized History of Video Games.

Lazy Fairy Improv Troupe  Lazy Fairy is an ever-evolving, innovative, Sarasota-based improv troupe dedicated to entertaining, training and teaching others in the purest form of theater: IMPROVISATION. Scene Rehearsal Group  Finally! A scene rehearsal group! In between gigs and need to hone your skills? Come join me for FREE at "The Actors Group" in the Tampa Bay area. Adults only, ages 18 & up. Come in and practice your: cold reading, monologues, improvisation, audition preparation, and scene study and breakdowns! This is a scene rehearsal group. It is not meant in any way to replace learning from an accredited school or instructor. It is on the contrary meant to support it. It was created so actors could come together, rehearse scenes, and practice other aspects of acting between gigs and class. Network with other actors, hang out, and have fun.
